New clothing, shoes, and essentials for local schoolchildren — delivered with care, in partnership with Salem-Keizer schools.
A program that works.
Operation School Bell is the signature philanthropic program of Assistance League chapters nationwide. Locally, we partner with the Salem-Keizer School District to provide students in need with new clothing and essentials — so they can show up to school ready to learn.
New Clothing
Each child receives new clothing, shoes, and basic essentials selected just for them.
Dignity First
Children shop with a volunteer in a private, welcoming setting — never a hand-me-down line.
School Partnerships
School counselors identify students who would benefit most, and we coordinate scheduling and logistics.
How it works
- Salem-Keizer school counselors identify students who would benefit from the program.
- Families and students are scheduled for a shopping appointment with trained volunteers.
- Each child selects new clothing, shoes, and essentials — all funded by the chapter.
- Students return to school equipped and confident to learn.
Community impact
